THEN CAME DUSK

Without much realization, dusk crept over the canyon, and before long I was making haste down the trail, before night came.

The Moon over Solstice Canyon

Solstice Canyon

3-miles of trails

I sat and watched a pair of parrots fly between tree branches high above me. Malibu & Topanga are so diverse, with just EVERYTHING. These are parrots (Nanday conures/ Black-Hood Parrots) here, nesting in a Canyon, with houses along the ridge and views of the shoreline!? Wow, cool!

Solstice Canyon has a fun, textured tempo where even-pavement meets crushing, shifting dirt and rock. A marriage that joins the historic parts of the Trails, like a hunting cabin and the foundation of a mansion by architect Paul Reeve Williams. Making it a nice “hybrid” exploration.

I have a fav from this set that I want to point out . The inside of a tree trunk has Rorschach inkblot-esch qualities and I thought a color image would be a nice complement and ground the photo .
